An ongoing photographic exploration of the region I know best.

I don't have to travel very far to find photographs.

Rhein-Main Confluence is my ongoing exploration of the wider Rhein-Main region — roughly the places I can reach within about ninety minutes from Frankfurt.
That includes dense city centres and quiet fields, glass towers and medieval streets, railway lines, rivers, vineyards, industrial sites and places that don't fit neatly into any of those descriptions.

What interests me is not documenting the region completely. That would probably require several lifetimes and a considerably larger hard drive.

I'm looking for the moments when familiar places become something else: when light changes a building, when infrastructure becomes geometry, when a historic street becomes quiet, or when the city suddenly gives way to landscape.

The project is divided into four evolving chapters. None of them is finished. That's the point.
